Filming for Never Let Me Go (2010) took  place at the Andrew Melville Hall in St Andrews, an architectural exemplar of New Brutalist style designed by Glasgow architect James Stirling in the 1960s.

Directed by Mark Romanek and staring Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield, the shoot in the North Haugh of St Andrews took one day in July 2009. Notably, Kazuo Ishiguro, who wrote the novel upon which the film was based, is also a St Andrews honorary graduate.
